I used to have a CQR on the bow but it just wouldn't hold in sand. The Bruce does it - but it needs the chain. I let out as much as possible (at least 5:1 ratio) without the danger of swinging into other vessels. In Block Island, RI I've anchored safely in 40' using a combination of 150' of chain and 50' of nylon rode. No problems. |
