This is Omuramba, a Swan 431 off Cape Town in the late 70's. A Sparkman and Stephens design, built in 1972. This is an early shot. I think it's Francis Darval (R.I.P), an old friend at the helm. We rented her for a Grunberger Stein commercial. I fell in love and bought her for 100,000 South African Rands (£4,300) and sailed her to New York in the 80's. Since then she's had a couple of new decks, a new engine and she's been refitted a few times. She's also had serious osmosis twice (in my ownership) but today, she's a classic and worth a hell of a lot more than £4,300. I last saw her in 2012, lying at anchor in Red Hook, St Thomas in the USVI. She looked brand new.
