No roller skates?


No, not at the Cuban Hat. Just a few badly paid young men serving cold drinks and hot dogs on drive-in like trays. It was the only hang-out on South Beach. This is a stock shot taken some time after my visits and it looks a bit deserted. The waiter certainly didn't work there in my time. He looks a little bewildered. In my day it was packed: there were Harleys, Triumph Super Rockets, MG TD's and lots of Volksies. In fact, most of the bikes and cars shown in this site visited the Hat. It was a popular hang-out. One day I might find a shot from the old days. In the meantime you'll just have to use your imagination . . .
