The Big Jelly


Up and down. Slowly, if you're lucky. It just doesn't get any better than this. Soon we'll reach the top of the hill and view the next valley. Then we'll slide gently down, all relaxed and slow like and then we might settle for a moment in the bottom of the valley. Perhaps the main might lose tension and a little air as we're temporarily sheilded from the breeze before filling up boldly with air from the new puff, ready to pick up a little power for the next gentle incline. We could maintain close on hull speed for hours on end whilst the conditions remained the same. Sometimes days. It can lull you into a false sense of security. You could even nod off on watch . . . .
