Ombunguka is alive and well

She was built in Durban by some lads who bounced her all the way up to Mauritius and back. Then they dumped her on a mooring at the Royal Natal Yacht Club. No harm done. I bought her in the early 60's in partnership with Robin Pringle, nice fellow from Zim. A year later he cast off the lines and left - without even saying goodbye. Not so nice. I next laid eyes on Ombunguka in Bequia in 2010 when my wife and I were cruising down there. There she was, lying quietly at anchor.
"That was my first boat ever!" I told her.
You never forget a boat. She was re-named and still looked very seaworthy. No sign of Pringle. Probably a good thing. I let it be.
